Visitation Guidelines

We recognize that family members, friends and loved ones play an integral role in providing physical, social and emotional support to patients. Patient and staff safety is our top priority and as family members and partners in care, we need your help to ensure that potential risks are kept to an absolute minimum.

As of July 16, 2021, Runnymede continues to welcome visitors for all patients. Patients may receive one (1) daily indoor or outdoor visit. Visitors are requested to limit their stay at the hospital to no more than 1-2 hours.

Short stay patients (less than 7 days) may identify 1 designated visitor and 1 designated alternate visitor.

Long stay patients (greater than 7 days) may now have 1 designated visitor and 2 designated alternate visitors. In addition to the 2 designated visitors, long stay patients may receive a maximum of seven (7) visitors (including up to 2 designates and up to 5 general visitors) at a time for an outdoor visit. Children under the age of two years do not count towards the general visitor maximum.

Visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. Visits from designated visitors and designated alternates do not need to be scheduled. All outdoor visits continue to be on a scheduled basis only. Individual requests beyond the current eligibility listed above may be brought to the attention of the appropriate Patient Care Manager for consideration.

Essential Care Partners

Runnymede Healthcare Centre recognizes the essential role of care partners in improving the experience and maximizing positive outcomes for our patients. Family members, friends, caregivers or others deemed significant by the patient, Power of Attorney (POA) or Substitute Decision Maker (SDM) can apply to become an Essential Care Partner.

Scent & Smoke-free Policy

Runnymede is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment. Please refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes and other scented personal care products while at the hospital.

We are also a smoke-free hospital. Smoking is not allowed in any part of the building and is discouraged on hospital property.

Parking & Hospital Access

As of March 24, 2021, entrance to the hospital has been relocated to the rear of the building. These measures are temporary through approximately the end of October 2021.

There is no on-site parking at the hospital. Accessible parking is available at the rear entrance and there are clearly identified parking spaces for patient drop offs and pick-ups.
