Over $220,000 was raised to support innovative patient programs at Runnymede Healthcare Centre during the 5th Annual ICARE Gala on October 16, 2015. With more than 300 in attendance, the event took place on the eve of the hospital’s 70th anniversary, marking seven decades of high-quality patient care with a night of fabulous food, music and fun.
"This has been an extremely special year for Runnymede, and we’re thankful to have celebrated our 70th anniversary with so many friends and supporters," said the hospital’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Connie Dejak. "We’re particularly grateful for the ongoing support of John Aquino and Sam Ciccolini; the invaluable contributions they bring to our Gala ensure its continued success and help sustain our culture of clinical excellence and patient-centred care."
Since the first ICARE Gala in 2010, Runnymede has raised over $1.1 million thanks to the generosity of its many donors, supporters and community partners. With rehabilitation and medically complex care in increasing demand, the money goes a long way toward maintaining the hospital’s excellent patient programs and services, and for meeting the ongoing challenges of public funding pressures.
The ICARE Gala’s supporters help maintain Runnymede’s clinical excellence today and make it possible for the hospital to build on its strengths for tomorrow.
