Runnymede Healthcare Centre's announcement

   celebration

It was a historic day for Runnymede Healthcare Centre on

Wednesday, August 9th . In one afternoon, twenty years of

uncertainty was lifted when Runnymede was given approval  to

begin construction on its new state-of-the-art 200-bed Complex

Continuing care facility. President & Chief Executive Officer Connie

Dejak was all smiles as the Honourable George  Smitherman,

Minister of Health and Long Term Care and the  Honourable David

Caplan, Minister of Infrastructure Renewal  delivered the good

news. Staff, patients, families, and Supporters  gathered in the

garden and applauded as the two Ministers  announced approval

for a $60 million project with  construction on  the  new hospital to

 begin in 2007.
