Admissions

The Admission process at Runnymede Healthcare Centre involves three steps. The first step is for a completed application form (CCAC or HCMT) to be sent to the Social Work Department. The second step is for this application to be reviewed by our Admission’s committee for approval. Once approval has been granted, then the third step is for the family and/or patient to come in for a tour. The pre-admission tour is important to familiarize the prospective patient with the physical environment, available programs, co-payment charges and to discuss any concerns/issues they may have regarding placement at Runnymede Healthcare Centre.

Once a person has been admitted to Runnymede then they will receive an information package that contains information about the various programs and services offered at Runnymede and the required forms to be completed and signed. An initial conference with the patient/family will be scheduled for one month after their relative’s admission.

Visitors

Visiting hours are from 900 hours until 2100 hours seven days per week.

Parking at present is free and is located on site.

Many of our patients experience feeding and/or swallowing difficulties. Visitors are requested to notify the nursing staff before they give food and/or drinks to their relative/friend.

Runnymede is a smoke free facility. Smoking is not allowed in any part of the building.

All electrical appliances (TV’s, radios) brought into Runnymede by any person for use in the hospital must first be inspected and tested by the Maintenance Department.
